Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to everyone accessing VettaLux — Customers, Providers, Affiliates, and visitors. It is incorporated into the [Terms of Service](/legal/terms). Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, account termination, loss of unpaid commissions or escrow balances, reporting to law enforcement, and civil or criminal action.

1. Prohibited Conduct (All Users)
You will not:
1. Break the law. Use the Platform for any illegal purpose, or in violation of any federal, state, or local law or regulation.
2. Commit fraud. Including payment fraud, identity fraud, false credentials, fake reviews, fabricated profiles, or dispute-system fraud.
3. Misrepresent identity. Impersonate another person, create fake accounts, or claim association with VettaLux without authorization.
4. Harass or threaten. Stalk, harass, threaten, defame, or intimidate any User, VettaLux staff, or Provider employee.
5. Discriminate. Refuse service, charge different prices, or target promotions based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, marital status, familial status, veteran status, or any other protected class.
6. Post illegal or harmful content. Including child sexual abuse material (which is reported to NCMEC and law enforcement), violent extremism, or content that incites violence.
7. Circumvent security. Probe, scan, exploit, or bypass Platform security controls; attempt to gain unauthorized access; use stolen credentials.
8. Scrape or harvest. Use bots, scrapers, crawlers, or automated means to collect Platform data beyond what's publicly navigable. The Platform's public content is licensed to you only for personal, non-commercial browsing.
9. Reverse-engineer. Decompile, disassemble, reverse-engineer, or derive source from Platform software.
10. Spam. Send unsolicited messages, bulk promotions, or misuse communication features (SMS, email, chat) to unaffiliated Users.
11. Interfere. Overload infrastructure; inject malicious code; upload viruses, worms, trojans, or other harmful code.

2. Customer-Specific Prohibitions
Customers will not:
- Submit false or retaliatory disputes (e.g., disputing a completed Service you received in full, or as retaliation for an ordinary pricing disagreement).
- Misrepresent the job scope to get a lower quote and then demand additional work at the quoted price.
- Fail to disclose hazards (asbestos, mold, lead, violent pets, structural issues, etc.) that materially affect the Provider's safety or pricing.
- Harass, threaten, defame, or extort Providers — including threats of fake reviews or dispute-system abuse.
- Request Services that are illegal, require licenses the Provider does not hold, or violate building code or zoning.
- Attempt to hire a Provider off-platform to avoid Platform fees after discovering them through VettaLux (see Section 9 of the Provider Agreement for the symmetrical prohibition).
- Chargeback in bad faith in lieu of using the in-platform dispute process.

3. Provider-Specific Prohibitions
Providers will not:
- Accept or perform any Service they are not licensed, trained, or insured to perform.
- Misrepresent credentials, certifications, affiliations, license numbers, insurance coverage, trade association memberships, or years of experience.
- Use fake, stolen, staged, or AI-generated photos without clear labeling.
- Trade, buy, or incentivize reviews; solicit reviews in exchange for discounts, cash, or favors.
- Retaliate against Customers for reviews (legal threats, doxxing, harassment, repeat visits to the home).
- Engage in off-platform circumvention (see Section 9 of the Provider Agreement).
- Perform a Service under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or while impaired.
- Bring unvetted sub-contractors or crew to a Customer premises without proper authorization, insurance, and Customer disclosure where required.
- Enter any part of a Customer premises not strictly required for the Service.
- Photograph or record the Customer or premises without explicit, recorded consent.
- Solicit tips, side payments, or non-booking services on the Customer premises.
- Discriminate in service area, pricing, or quality based on any protected class (Section 1).

4. Affiliate-Specific Prohibitions
Affiliates will not:
- Fail to disclose the affiliate relationship as required by the FTC.
- Self-refer, cookie-stuff, spam, buy our trademarked search terms, or use bots.
- Use VettaLux's brand assets outside the brand guide.
- Make earnings or outcome claims that are false or misleading.
- Register domains, social handles, or app-store listings that are confusingly similar to VettaLux marks.

5. Reporting + Enforcement
- To report abuse:

- To report account compromise or security issue:
security@vettalux.com.
We investigate every credible report. Depending on severity we may: remove content, warn, suspend, terminate, forfeit balances, invoice liquidated damages (e.g., for off-platform circumvention), cooperate with subpoenas, or refer to law enforcement. Our determinations are binding within the Platform (appeal via the Dispute Resolution Policy).

6. Automated Enforcement
We use automated signals — velocity, geolocation, device fingerprint, review patterns, dispute patterns, payment patterns — to flag likely AUP violations for human review. False-positive appeals are handled via /account/support.
